Te Papa Trip

We had an awesome time visiting Te Papa and the National Library last Wednesday.

Our favourite things were... digging up dinosaur bones

The Giant Squid

The Earthquake House

We had lunch at Parliament.  Misha thought it looked like a palace!

Then we went to the National Library
We heard the story of Rangi and Papa.
We saw some really old documents.  The paper was made from cotton or animal skin.  The rats and mice had eaten some of it!

When we got back to school we had a special treat... yum!

Chocolate Crackle Cupcakes

On Friday we did some cooking - we made chocolate crackle cupcakes.  They are easy.

First Miss S and Donna melted some Kremelta.

We put some rice bubbles, cocoa and icing sugar in a bowl and mixed it.

Then we put in the melted Kremelta and stirred it again.

We put some in a cupcake paper and put some sprinkles on top.
They had to go in the fridge for lunchtime and then we ate them.
They were yum!

Planting Peas

Today we planted some pea seeds.

First we put some soil into our pot.

Then we made the soil wet by watering it.
 Here is the pea seed.
With our pinkie finger we made a little hole and put the seed in.  We covered it with a little bit of soil.

Now we have to watch and wait!

We also planted some Little Gardens - swan plant, beetroot, lettuce, thyme, courgette and silverbeet.
